Born in 1981 in South Africa Capetown, moved to israel in 1991. Gilad In junior high was exposed to lots of music and was mostly intrested in the bass! Things led to another at the age of 16 Gilad started to learn music... Then got excepted to "Alon highscool for arts" while at that stage great teachers teached as : Walter Blanding, Amit Golan and Shai zelman. Today Gilad is concidered one of the most highly regarded bass players in the country and the world, known for his unique style and sound as well as his amazing control of the double bass. Won the Musician of Excellence Grant/Award given by the “American-Israel Foundation”and the first prize for the “Rimon's jazz player of the year" contest in rimon school "school for jazz and temporary music" (2003). Brought up to the herritage of Jazz, Abro embraced his love also for other styles whitch intrested him by peforming and working as a recording artist, with various artists from all styles... from rock, hip hop, latin to dance music.

Abro started working in 2005 with famous D. J Skazi. Starting off as arranging scores for strings and conducting for the famous concert : "Skazi live with strings", As well as playing bass for the concert "Skazi live act band" peformed with the band in numerous concerts all over the world to crowds from 2, 500-100, 000 people in countrys as: Japan, Brasil, Mexico, America, Europe, Israel. Gilad appears on numerous recordings with local and international musicians in all styles. recorded bass(electric/upright)and peformed with top israeli artists in all such as: Mika karni, Miki Shaviv, Micha Shitrit, Ahoova Ozeri, Ronit Roland, Ron Rozenfeld Amos ben david, Joca Perpignan and top Israeli Jazz artist's such as: Ilan Salem, Shai Zelman, Alon Yavnai, Amos Hoffman, Daniel Zamir, Amit Golan, 3cohens(anat, avishai, yuval), Omri Mor and Rea Barness exc... performed along side Jazz masters as visiting artists and abroad such as: Slide Hampton, randy brecker, Johnny griffin, Richard Davis, Larry Willis, Avishai cohen(bass), Kirk Lightsy, Arnie Lawrance, JD Allen, John Regen, Maucha Adnet, Jerry gonzales, Curtis fuller, Lou Soloff, David Hazeltine, Aaron Goldberg, John Hicks, Eric Alexander, Dewey Redman, Meredith D'Ambrosio, Greg Tardy and Jaimeo Brown.
