Born in 1979. Has studied music and composition at the Israel Art and Science Academy in Jerusalem with Prof. Andre Hadju and in the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem with M. Tzur and Mark Kopitman. An evening (“Overtones”) of his compositions was selected to represent Israel in Singapore Art Festival 2006. Nori played his composition and arrangements in distinguished festivals around the world among them: Chicago World Music Festival (2005), Melbourne Festival (2005), London Jewish culture festival (Place Theater 1999), Krakov Dance festival (2001) and Israeli festival (2007,2004,2003). The pieces “Jerusalem Dream” (2005) “Symphonic Concerto” (2003), “Lullaby" (2002), “Prayer” (1998), “Kaprizma” (1999) where recorder and broadcast by the Israeli radio. Nori has created music for the Israeli Contemporary String Quartet and the Traktor Revenge Rock Band (Rishon Le’Zion Spring festival 2004). Since Israeli festival 2004 Nori is Part of Haoman18 contemporary Jewish music ensemble directed by prof. Andre Hadju and wrote arrangements and music for the ensemble productions for the Israeli festival “Writing from within” (2003), “The Floating Tower” (2007). Nori is very active in the contemporary improvisation scene in Israel, and he is part of the “Kadima Collective” a label dedicated to experimental music. In this label he released few CDs among them the CD “A. Shibolet and Between the Strings ” that has received warm critics worldwide. This year Nori is releasing with his group “Tafillalt” a CD in John Zorn's label “Tzadik”. Nori has an Msc. in Mathematics From the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and he is currently a PhD Student in the prestiges ICNC PhD program in neuroscience . His research topic is “rhythm perception” and it tries to combine science, music and technology to a better understanding of the perception of time in humans.
