Temporary holder for the Flash® object
Tilda Rejwan was born in Turkey. She made her first stage performance when she was three years old. Since then, the passion of music has never disappeared from her soul.
She was twelve years old when she composed and wrote in French her first song recorded by the duet “Diane & David” which are well known in Turkey.
After she finished her psychology studies in Switzerland, she decided to live the fullest of her passion.
Her experiences around the world brought her modesty, good behavior, and understanding of the people who have the chance to meet with her, and to perfect her knowledge of 7 different languages.
She decided to start her career in France with one of the biggest music film composers, the French composer Francis Lai (Love Story, A Man and a Woman, ….) with whom she recorded her first sound track, for the movie “I’ve met Santa Claus”.
Then, she decided to move on to Rome, where she met with Ennio Moriconne with whom she recorded, as author-interpret, the sound track of the movie “La cage aux folles III”, which has had huge success all around the world.
After this success, she went to the United States, to record the sound track of the TV series, “Double Seven”, with composer Giorgio Moroder. In New York, she records her album “Why” with Joe Mardin and Eric Calvi and she appeared on Nile Rodgers album. She worked and was associated with Quincy Jones, Arif Mardin and Ahmet Ertegun (they have both the same Turkish origins as Tilda) Ahmet Ertegun said about Tilda: " one of the most beautiful voices he heard " . She was with the French US Composer-Producer Philippe Saisse when she met Mel Howard, producer of musical comedy.
Mel Howard brought Tilda back to Paris, to work on the musical comedy Cat’s, as Grisabella, music composed by Andrew Lloyd Weber. Then, she went to Belgium and recorded the album “One Night in Heaven”. She was in Brussels when the committee for the commemoration of the 40 years of reign and 60th anniversary of the King Baudoin contacted her to be the lead singer of a ballet composed especially for this event. This ballet, played in the planetarium of Brussels, in presence of the Royal Family, was the finale of one year of festivity in Belgium.
She performed again in Switzerland and shared the same stage with Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Dave Stewart.
In the year 2000, she performed for the first time in Russia, at the prestigious Kremlin Palace, in Moscow.
Nikita Mikhalkov, Russia’s most famous film director and actor, whose “Burnt by the Sun” won an Oscar in 1994 for best foreign film, invited Tilda Rejwan to perform the end generic song of his latest film, “The Barber of Siberia”. (Tilda wrote also the lyrics of the song)
He hosted the world premiere of “The Barber of Siberia” for a crowd of 5,000 in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses where Tilda gave a wonderful interpretation at the end of the projection, for a subjugated attendance. Among those in attendance were Shirley McLaine, the Russian former Prime Ministers Yevgeny Primakov and Viktor Chernomyrdin, and the USSR’s last president, Mikhail Gorbachev.
After a series of concerts in Israel, during the year 2002, she went again to Russia in October 2002 to participate in three concerts performed by the French composer Didier Marouani and his band "Space".
The 25th of October 2002 again at the Kremlin Palace, in Moscow (5,000 people) with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra of the Presidency (conducted by Pavel Ovsiannikov),
The 27th of October at the "New Ice Arena", in St. Petersburg, (15,000 people) again with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra of the Presidency (conducted by Pavel Ovsiannikov), and
The 31st of October at the Main Stadium of Novossibirsk (14,000 people) with the Symphony Orchestra of Novossibirsk.
Back to Israel, she performed at the Tel Aviv Opera Hall with The Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon Le Zion Conducted by Mr. Rafi Kadishson.
Tilda Rejwan has still a strong attachment to the French song that she performs all around the world with her show « Tribute to the French Song » and the album “Live” of the show has been released in November 2005.
She worked again with Mr Rafi Kadishson and the Haifa Symphony Orchestra (70 Musicians) for her show “Love Stories” based on the great French love songs, the Premiere took place at Hertzelya Opera Hall the 12th of January 2006 with a huge success. This show will be performed soon in China and Japan where Tilda made a very impressive presentation to the cultural authorities.
She is now in Israel to perform her new show “On Sidewalks of Paris “ with the well known Israeli animator-actor Oded Menashe and between performances all around the country,(one of them at Carmiel Festival the 22nd of July 2008), she is working on her next album, 100% Hebrew, with composers as Arcadi Duchin.
